Ghostly Tours in Texas

In San Antonio, one of Texas’s most haunted cities, the spirits are no longer staying quiet…

Pedro, a night guard at the Alamo, is certain the spirits there are trying to reach him. But before Lillia can focus on the mystery within those historic walls, another problem begins to unfold. Across the city, San Antonio’s famous ghost tours are being sabotaged, and no one knows why.

At first, it seems like a prank.

Until it isn’t.

As the disturbances grow more dangerous, Lillia realizes that more than one spirit is trying to be heard, and not all of them are willing to wait patiently. But the deeper Lillia looks, the clearer one thing becomes.

This isn’t just about ghosts. It’s about something, or someone, determined to keep the truth hidden.

And in a city where history still lingers in the night air, uncovering that truth may be more dangerous than she ever imagined.

These photographs helped inspire the setting, history, and haunting atmosphere of Ghostly Tours, where Lillia’s journey through San Antonio, Texas brings her face to face with both the beauty of the present and the mysteries of the past.

🏨 A Grand Arrival at the Menger

The moment Lillia and Grauntie Nora arrive in San Antonio, they step beneath the historic arches of the Menger Hotel. Welcomed by the friendly manager Manny, they quickly sense that this elegant hotel holds more than just history within its walls. It is here that their journey begins… and where the first threads of the ghostly mystery start to take shape.
🕯️ Echoes in the Corridors

Inside the Menger, beauty and history surround them at every turn. But these corridors are not empty. Guests have long reported seeing the ghost of Sallie White, a former maid who still lingers within the hotel. In Ghostly Tours, Lillia discovers that Sallie may have more to share than anyone expects.
👻 A Rancher from the Past

Among the spirits said to walk the halls of the Menger is Richard King, founder of the famous King Ranch. Lillia and Nora stay in the King Ranch Suite, where his presence has often been felt by guests. When Lillia encounters him, she realizes that even the most powerful figures from history may still have a role to play.
🚪 A Doorway Between Worlds

At Mission San José, Lillia’s journey takes a meaningful turn. Drawn to one of the simple doorways lining the mission walls, she steps inside and meets Lupita, her spirit guide. In that quiet moment, Lillia begins to understand that some doors do more than open into rooms… they open into the past.
🌙 Whispers at the Alamo

As night falls, the Alamo becomes something altogether different. Here, beneath the soft glow of lights and shadows, Lillia meets Pedro, a night guard who feels the presence of spirits he cannot see. Together, they return again and again, hoping Lillia’s abilities will reveal what the Alamo’s restless voices are trying to say.
🏛️ The Alamo as It Once Stood

This recreation of the Alamo shows how it appeared during the Battle of 1836. The four statues of saints in the front niches stand watch over the mission, just as they did long ago. In Ghostly Tours, these statues become more than decoration… they are part of the clues Lillia must follow to uncover the truth.
⚰️ The Perfect Ghost Tour Ride

Every ghost tour needs a memorable way to travel through the night. This vintage hearse inspired Tiffany’s Elite Ghost Tours vehicle and even influenced the design of the Ghostly Tours book cover. With its dark elegance, it is the perfect symbol of the mystery unfolding across the city.
🌆 An Evening Along the River Walk

Not every moment in San Antonio is filled with shadows. Along the famous River Walk, Lillia takes time to enjoy the beauty of the city, watching boats drift along the water as lights reflect in the evening air. It is a peaceful pause… before the mystery deepens once again.
🍨 A Sweet Beginning

No Pameroy journey is complete without a first morning tradition. At the Menger Hotel’s Colonial Dining Room, Lillia and Nora enjoy the famous mango ice cream, a treat loved by presidents and visitors alike. A sweet start… to a story filled with mystery.
